The short answer
Most areas need between three and six sessions. Smaller areas, such as under the chin, are often at the lower end; larger or firmer areas, such as the stomach or outer thighs, tend to need more. Sessions are usually spaced around four to six weeks apart, so the body has time to clear the treated fat between them.
How Aqualyx works
Aqualyx is an injectable solution placed directly into a small pocket of stubborn fat. It breaks down the walls of the fat cells, and your body then clears them naturally over the following weeks. Fat cells that have been cleared don't come back, although the remaining cells can still grow if weight is gained.
Common areas include under the chin and along the jawline, the stomach, hips, inner and outer thighs, back, knees and upper arms.
Who it suits
Aqualyx is a contouring treatment for people who are close to their target weight but have an area that won't shift with diet and exercise. It is not a weight-loss treatment. At your consultation John will assess the area and tell you honestly how many sessions he expects it to need.
What it costs
Aqualyx at Trusted Touch Aesthetics is £100 for one area, £180 for two areas and £220 for three areas in the same session.
Questions clients ask
- Is there swelling afterwards?
- Yes, swelling, tenderness and some bruising are normal for a few days, and under-the-chin treatments can look puffy for up to a week. Our aftercare guide explains what to expect.
- When will I see results?
- Changes usually start to show four to six weeks after each session, as the body clears the treated fat.
- Is it permanent?
- The treated fat cells are cleared permanently, but keeping a stable weight helps keep the result.
