About Skin Tags
Skin tags are small, soft, harmless growths of skin that often appear where skin rubs — the neck, underarms, eyelid area, under the breasts and the groin. They're very common, especially with age, weight change and pregnancy.
Advanced electrolysis treats the tag at its base with a fine probe and a precise burst of heat. Small tags often dry and drop off within days; larger ones are treated so they shrink and fall away as the area heals. Several tags can be treated in one appointment.

Key Benefits
- 01Removes skin tags neatly at the base
- 02Several tags treated in one session
- 03Usually one treatment per tag
- 04Ends irritation from tags catching on clothing or jewellery
- 05Minimal downtime
- 06Quick appointments of 15 or 30 minutes
Is this treatment right for me?
This suits typical small skin tags. Any growth that is changing, bleeding, painful or pigmented needs medical assessment first. Tags very close to the eye may need a different approach.
You may be suitable if…
- You have small, soft skin tags on the neck, underarms, body or face
- The tags are stable and haven't changed in appearance
- They catch on clothing or jewellery, or you'd simply like them gone
- The surrounding skin is healthy
Your consultation will consider…
- Medical history, including pacemakers, diabetes, blood thinners and pregnancy
- Skin type, healing and any tendency to pigmentation or keloid scarring
- Confirmation that the blemish is benign and suitable to treat
- How many sessions are likely to be needed
What to expect
Before treatment
Everything starts with a consultation, where Cinzia confirms the blemish is suitable to treat with advanced electrolysis and explains what to expect. Avoid self-tan, sunburn and active skincare (retinol, acids) on the area for a week beforehand, and arrive without make-up on the area.
During treatment
The skin is cleansed and each tag is treated with an extremely fine sterile probe, applying a precise burst of heat at the base of the tag to cauterise it. Most people feel a quick prickling heat, like a tiny spark, at each point; treatments are short and most clients don't need numbing.
After treatment
The area may look slightly red straight away. Cinzia applies a soothing product and gives you aftercare advice before you leave.
Results & longevity
Small tags usually darken and fall away within a few days; larger ones within one to two weeks as the base heals. Most tags need one treatment. Treated tags don't regrow, although new ones can form over time, especially where skin rubs.
Recovery, side effects & aftercare
The treated area will look slightly red or raised immediately afterwards, then tiny dry scabs form over the next day or two. The tag and any scab fall away within days to two weeks.
Side effects
Redness, slight swelling and small scabs are expected. Less commonly, temporary darker or lighter marks can appear where the skin healed (more likely with sun exposure or picking), and, rarely, a small scar. Infection is uncommon with good aftercare.
Aftercare
Keep the area clean and dry, and don't touch or pick the scabs — let them fall away naturally. For 48 hours avoid make-up on the area, perfumed products, exfoliation, skin acids, saunas, steam and swimming. Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily until fully healed, and avoid sunbeds and tanning.
Please contact the clinic if the area becomes increasingly painful, hot or swollen, weeps, shows signs of infection, or hasn't healed within three to four weeks.
- Downtime
- Minimal — tiny scabs for one to two weeks
- Redness
- Mild, around each treated point, settles within a day or two
- Swelling
- Slight, settles within hours to a day
- Bruising
- Uncommon
- Normal activities
- Straight away; avoid gym, sauna, swimming and make-up on the area for 48 hours
Frequently Asked Questions
Are skin tags harmful?
No — they're common and benign. Anything that changes, bleeds or is pigmented should be checked by a doctor before removal.
How many can be removed at once?
Several, depending on their size and number — Cinzia will recommend a session length at consultation.
Will they grow back?
Treated tags don't regrow, but new ones can appear over time, particularly where skin rubs.
Does it leave a scar?
A small scab forms and heals within one to two weeks. Scarring is rare with good aftercare; temporary pinkness can follow.
Can tags near the eyes be treated?
Tags close to the eye need particular care and may not be suitable — Cinzia will assess them at consultation.
