About Blood Spots
Blood spots — also called cherry angiomas or Campbell de Morgan spots — are small, harmless, bright red raised dots made of tiny blood vessels. They usually appear on the body from middle age onwards and tend to increase in number over time.
Advanced electrolysis seals the spot with a fine probe and a precise burst of heat, so it dries and heals away. Most spots are treated in a single session, and several can be treated in one appointment.

Key Benefits
- 01Removes red blood spots precisely
- 02Several spots treated in one session
- 03Usually one treatment per spot
- 04Quick appointments of 15 or 30 minutes
- 05Minimal downtime
- 06Smoother, clearer-looking skin
Is this treatment right for me?
This suits small, typical cherry angiomas. Any spot that is changing, bleeding without injury, unusually large or dark needs medical assessment first rather than removal.
You may be suitable if…
- You have small, bright red blood spots on the face or body
- The spots have been stable and haven't changed
- The skin around them is healthy and unbroken
- You'd like them removed for cosmetic reasons
Your consultation will consider…
- Medical history, including pacemakers, diabetes, blood thinners and pregnancy
- Skin type, healing and any tendency to pigmentation or keloid scarring
- Confirmation that the blemish is benign and suitable to treat
- How many sessions are likely to be needed
What to expect
Before treatment
Everything starts with a consultation, where Cinzia confirms the blemish is suitable to treat with advanced electrolysis and explains what to expect. Avoid self-tan, sunburn and active skincare (retinol, acids) on the area for a week beforehand, and arrive without make-up on the area.
During treatment
The skin is cleansed and each blood spot is treated with an extremely fine sterile probe, applying a precise burst of heat that seals the tiny vessels so the spot dries. Most people feel a quick prickling heat, like a tiny spark, at each point; treatments are short and most clients don't need numbing.
After treatment
The area may look slightly red straight away. Cinzia applies a soothing product and gives you aftercare advice before you leave.
Results & longevity
The spot darkens and dries straight away, forms a small scab, and heals over one to two weeks. Most spots need one treatment; larger ones occasionally need a second session after four to six weeks. Treated spots don't return, although new ones can develop over time.
Recovery, side effects & aftercare
The treated spots will look slightly red or raised immediately afterwards, then tiny dry scabs form over the next day or two. The scabs fall away within one to two weeks.
Side effects
Redness, slight swelling and small scabs are expected. Less commonly, temporary darker or lighter marks can appear where the skin healed (more likely with sun exposure or picking), and, rarely, a small scar. Infection is uncommon with good aftercare.
Aftercare
Keep the area clean and dry, and don't touch or pick the scabs — let them fall away naturally. For 48 hours avoid make-up on the area, perfumed products, exfoliation, skin acids, saunas, steam and swimming. Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily until fully healed, and avoid sunbeds and tanning.
Please contact the clinic if the area becomes increasingly painful, hot or swollen, weeps, shows signs of infection, or hasn't healed within three to four weeks.
- Downtime
- Minimal — tiny scabs for one to two weeks
- Redness
- Mild, around each treated point, settles within a day or two
- Swelling
- Slight, settles within hours to a day
- Bruising
- Uncommon
- Normal activities
- Straight away; avoid gym, sauna, swimming and make-up on the area for 48 hours
Frequently Asked Questions
Are blood spots harmful?
Typical cherry angiomas are harmless. Any spot that changes, bleeds without injury or looks unusual should be checked by a doctor first.
How many can be treated in one session?
Several, depending on their size and the session length — Cinzia will advise at consultation.
Will they come back?
Treated spots don't return, but new ones can appear over time, as they tend to increase with age.
Does it leave a mark?
A small scab forms and falls away within one to two weeks. Temporary pinkness can follow; scarring is rare with good aftercare.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel a brief, hot prickle. Treatments are quick and numbing isn't usually needed.
