About LED Light Therapy
LED light therapy exposes the skin to specific wavelengths of light that trigger a response in the cells beneath. Red light is absorbed by the mitochondria — the cells' energy centres — encouraging repair, collagen production and improved circulation; near-infrared reaches deeper to calm inflammation; and blue light targets the bacteria involved in acne. There's no heat, no UV and no downtime.
We offer LED as a standalone session or as an add-on to other treatments — it's particularly good after microneedling, facials or injectables to calm the skin and speed recovery.

Key Benefits
- 01Stimulates collagen for smoother, firmer skin
- 02Calms redness, inflammation and sensitivity
- 03Blue light helps control breakouts
- 04Speeds recovery after other treatments
- 05Completely non-invasive with no downtime
- 06Relaxing — many clients find it a moment of calm
Is this treatment right for me?
LED suits almost everyone: it's gentle, painless and works with every skin type and tone. It's especially useful for acne-prone skin, redness and rosacea, dull or tired skin, and as a recovery boost after microneedling, facials or injectables. Light-sensitising medication or conditions are the main things to mention.
You may be suitable if…
- You have breakouts, redness or sensitive, reactive skin
- You'd like a gentle boost to skin repair and glow
- You've just had another treatment and want to speed recovery
- You're not taking light-sensitising medication and don't have a light-triggered condition
Your consultation will consider…
- Your main concern, which decides the wavelength — red, near-infrared, blue or a combination
- Any medication or condition that makes skin light-sensitive
- Whether LED is best standalone, as a course, or as an add-on
- A realistic schedule — LED works best with regular sessions
What to expect
Before treatment
No preparation is needed beyond arriving with clean skin if you can. Make-up is removed before treatment so the light reaches the skin.
During treatment
You lie back comfortably with protective goggles on while the LED panel is positioned close to the face (or body area). The light feels gently warm at most. A session lasts around 20 minutes, and you can simply relax. As an add-on it follows your facial, microneedling or injectable treatment.
After treatment
There's nothing to recover from — you can apply make-up and carry on immediately. Skin often looks calmer and brighter straight away, and the collagen-boosting effect builds with regular sessions.
Results & longevity
Calming and brightening effects are often visible immediately, particularly for redness. The deeper benefits — improved texture, fewer breakouts, firmer skin — build cumulatively with regular use; a course of six to ten sessions over three to five weeks is typical for acne or rejuvenation, followed by maintenance every two to four weeks. Results continue for as long as sessions are maintained.
Recovery, side effects & aftercare
There is no downtime with LED. It's one of the few treatments where you can walk straight back into your day — or an evening out — with nothing to hide.
Side effects
LED is very well tolerated. Occasionally people notice mild, brief redness or dryness, or a headache from the brightness if goggles aren't worn. It's avoided in people taking light-sensitising medication or with conditions triggered by light.
Aftercare
Nothing specific is needed. Keep up your usual skincare and SPF. If LED follows another treatment, that treatment's aftercare applies.
Side effects are very unlikely, but please get in touch if you notice a rash or unusual sensitivity after treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does LED actually do anything?
Yes — specific wavelengths are absorbed by skin cells and trigger measurable responses: increased collagen production, reduced inflammation and, with blue light, fewer acne-causing bacteria. Results build with regular sessions.
Which colour do I need?
Red and near-infrared for repair, collagen and calming; blue for breakouts. Many sessions combine them, and John will choose based on your skin.
How many sessions?
A course of six to ten sessions over a few weeks gives the best result for acne or rejuvenation, then maintenance every two to four weeks. As an add-on, a single session helps your other treatment recover.
Is it safe? Is there UV?
There's no UV and no heat damage — LED is one of the gentlest treatments available and suits all skin tones. Goggles protect your eyes during the session.
Can I have it after microneedling or a facial?
Yes — that's one of its best uses. It calms the skin and supports repair, and is available as an add-on at a reduced price.
How long does a session take?
About 20 minutes. It's easy to fit into a lunch break.
