About With Exosomes + PDRN
This is microneedling's advanced form. The same fine-needle pen creates thousands of micro-channels in the skin, but the serum worked into them combines three ingredients: hyaluronic acid for hydration, PDRN (polynucleotide fragments derived from salmon DNA) to signal repair, and exosomes — tiny messenger particles that instruct skin cells to regenerate.
The combination accelerates and deepens the skin's response, making it a strong option for ageing skin, scarring, sun damage, pigmentation and skin that's been slow to recover.

Key Benefits
- 01Faster, stronger collagen and elastin response than standard microneedling
- 02Targets scarring, sun damage, pigmentation and ageing skin
- 03Exosomes and PDRN support repair and calm inflammation
- 04Hydration from hyaluronic acid
- 05Improved healing and less downtime than needling alone
- 06Suits most skin types and tones
Is this treatment right for me?
This suits people who want the most from microneedling — those with scarring, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, or skin that's lost its bounce — and anyone whose skin has been slow to respond to other treatments. As with all needling, active acne, infection or inflamed skin needs to settle first, and a fish allergy rules out PDRN.
You may be suitable if…
- You have scarring, sun damage or uneven tone
- Your skin looks aged, thin or slow to recover
- You'd like a stronger result than standard microneedling
- You have no fish allergy and no active acne or infection in the area
Your consultation will consider…
- Skin type, tone and any tendency to pigmentation or keloids
- A fish allergy (PDRN is salmon-derived) or recent isotretinoin use
- The right needle depth and serum combination for your concern
- A course plan — usually three to four sessions
What to expect
Before treatment
John assesses your skin and history and confirms the plan. Avoid retinol, acids and other actives for a week, avoid sun exposure and hair removal on the area, and arrive with a clean face.
During treatment
After cleansing and 20–30 minutes of numbing cream, John needles the skin in overlapping passes at a depth chosen for your concern, applying the exosome, PDRN and hyaluronic acid serum throughout so it's carried into the channels. Needling takes around 30 minutes; the appointment is about an hour.
After treatment
The skin is red and warm for the rest of the day. Because the serum supports repair, many people find redness settles faster than with standard needling. A calming layer and SPF are applied before you leave.

Results & longevity
A brighter, smoother surface is usually visible within a week. The regenerative effect builds over four to eight weeks and continues to improve with each session, with changes in scarring, pigmentation and firmness typically clearest after a course of three to four sessions four to six weeks apart. Results are long-lasting with good skin care and sun protection; a maintenance session every four to six months keeps skin at its best.
Recovery, side effects & aftercare
Recovery is much like standard microneedling — redness and warmth on the day, pink for a day or two — but the regenerative serum often shortens it. Most people are comfortable in public within 24 hours.
Side effects
Redness, warmth, tightness, mild swelling and light flaking are expected and short-lived. Pinpoint bleeding during treatment is normal. Uncommon effects include a breakout in the days afterwards, temporary darkening in people prone to pigmentation (which is why SPF matters), or a mild infection if aftercare isn't followed. Cold sores can be triggered around the mouth in people who get them.
Aftercare
Keep the skin clean and simple for 48 hours: gentle cleanser, the serum John recommends, and a bland moisturiser. No make-up for 24 hours, no active skincare (retinol, acids, vitamin C) for five to seven days, and daily SPF 50 for at least two weeks. Avoid exercise, saunas, swimming and direct sun for 48 hours, and don't pick any flaking.
Please contact the clinic if redness or swelling worsens after 48 hours, you develop pus-filled spots, or you see any darkening of the skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are exosomes?
Tiny particles that cells use to send instructions to one another. In skincare they're used to tell skin cells to repair and produce collagen — think of them as a signal boost for the healing microneedling already triggers.
What is PDRN?
Polydeoxyribonucleotide — DNA fragments purified from salmon that stimulate tissue repair and calm inflammation. It's the same family of ingredient as injectable polynucleotides.
Is this better than standard microneedling?
It's stronger and faster for regenerative goals — scarring, sun damage, ageing skin. For simple glow and maintenance, standard microneedling with hyaluronic acid may be all you need.
How many sessions?
Typically three to four, spaced four to six weeks apart, then maintenance every four to six months.
Does it hurt?
With numbing cream it's uncomfortable rather than painful — a scratchy, vibrating sensation — and the skin feels like sunburn afterwards.
I'm allergic to fish — can I have it?
PDRN is derived from salmon, so we'd recommend standard microneedling with hyaluronic acid instead. Please mention any allergies at consultation.
How long is the downtime?
Red on the day, pink for a day or two, no make-up for 24 hours and no exercise for 48 hours.
