Why the whole face matters
We read faces at a glance, not feature by feature. Lips, cheeks, chin and jawline are judged against each other, so making one area bigger can make another look out of place. That is why a single treatment sometimes looks 'done' even when it was carried out well.
Facial harmonisation, sometimes called facial balancing, starts from the opposite direction. Instead of asking 'what can we add to your lips?', it asks 'what would bring your whole face into proportion?'. The answer is usually a set of small, considered adjustments across several areas.
What happens at the consultation
John looks at your face from the front and in profile: the balance of the upper, middle and lower thirds, the symmetry between the two sides, the chin and jaw in profile, and how your face moves when you talk and smile. Most faces are not symmetrical, and it is very hard to see that in your own.
You then get a photo of your face marked with the areas John would suggest, and a full breakdown of the plan and its cost. You take both away and decide in your own time. There is no pressure to book on the day.
Which treatments are used
Each area is treated with the right tool for it. Dermal filler gives structure and volume to the cheeks, chin, jawline, temples or nose; anti-wrinkle treatment softens movement; skin boosters, threads or collagen stimulators help where the skin itself needs support.
Supporting the right foundations often lifts and softens other areas indirectly, so a balanced plan can mean less product overall, not more.
Cost and how long it lasts
Filler for harmonisation is priced as a package by the millilitre, from £190 for 1ml, which works out cheaper than paying for single areas. Your breakdown shows exactly what is proposed and why. Hyaluronic acid filler typically lasts around 9 to 18 months depending on the area, and it can be dissolved if it ever needs correcting.
Questions clients ask
- Is facial harmonisation only for women?
- No. Many of John's harmonisation clients are men, often looking for a stronger chin and jawline and a more balanced profile.
- Will I still look like myself?
- That is the aim. Small, well-placed adjustments across several areas usually look more natural than a large amount in one place.
- Do I have to have everything done at once?
- No. Many clients treat the plan in stages, starting with the area that makes the biggest difference.
