Yes, when it's done properly
Electrolysis is the only method of hair removal recognised as permanent. A very fine probe is placed into each hair follicle and a small, precise current destroys the part of the follicle that grows the hair. Once a follicle has been treated successfully, it can't grow that hair again.
Why it works where laser doesn't
Laser targets the pigment in the hair, so it struggles with blonde, grey, white and red hairs, and needs care on darker skin. Electrolysis treats the follicle directly, so it works on every hair colour and every skin type.
It is ideal for small or awkward areas: stray chin and upper lip hairs, eyebrows, and the last few hairs left after a course of laser.
Why you need a course
Hair grows in cycles, and only the hairs that are actively growing can be treated at any one time. A course of regular sessions catches each hair in its growing phase. The number of sessions depends on the area and how many hairs there are, which Cinzia will explain at your first appointment.
Who treats you and what it costs
Electrolysis at Trusted Touch Aesthetics is carried out by Cinzia Campigotto, a skin expert with over 25 years' experience. Sessions are booked by time: 15 minutes £50, 30 minutes £70, 45 minutes £100 and 60 minutes £120.
Questions clients ask
- Does electrolysis hurt?
- Most people describe a brief warm or stinging sensation at each follicle. It is very manageable, especially in shorter sessions.
- Will it mark my skin?
- Mild redness is normal for a few hours. Small, temporary marks can appear, which is why aftercare and an experienced practitioner matter.
- Can it treat hormonal hair growth?
- Yes, although new follicles may become active over time if the underlying cause continues, so occasional top-ups can be needed.
