Aftercare guide
Skin Boosters Aftercare
How to look after your skin after skin booster injections, what the small bumps mean, and when to contact the clinic.
Straight after treatment
- Leave the injection points alone for the rest of the day — no make-up, and no touching or massaging unless John has asked you to.
- Use a mild, non-abrasive cleanser, and avoid scrubbing or exfoliating for a few days.
The first 24 hours
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and alcohol.
- Stay out of strong sun and heat for a few days, as they can increase swelling.
What’s normal
- Small raised bumps at the injection points, which usually flatten within hours and occasionally take a day or two.
- Under the eyes, some puffiness for two to three days.
- Mild redness that settles within hours, and tenderness.
- Small bruises, which fade within a week.
Longer term
- Keep your skin well moisturised and wear SPF every day. It protects your skin and your result.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Skin boosters usually work best as a course. Attend your follow-up appointments so John can assess your skin and plan any further sessions.
Contact the clinic if…
- Redness that’s spreading, or pain that’s increasing.
- A lump that grows rather than settles.
- Any change in skin colour around the treated area.
- Anything else that worries you.
